Leadership Team

John Williams

President

John Williams joined Contractor Transport in January 2021 as Chief Operating Officer, assuming responsibility for overseeing the company’s global operations. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across transportation, logistics, field services, aviation management, and emergency response.

Since joining Contractor Transport, John’s leadership has played a key role in streamlining operational processes during a period of rapid growth. Under his direction, the company successfully diversified its business model to drive revenue and profitability while simultaneously improving safety performance and DOT metrics. He and his team executed multiple long-term, diversified growth initiatives, including the strategic growth of the oil fleet through the addition of new assets. At the same time, John led the replacement of existing equipment with modern assets and developed a comprehensive asset replacement schedule to systematically retire aging fleet. These efforts resulted in sustained growth, improved fleet reliability, and the continued deployment of modernized assets to meet increasing customer demand.

In recognition of his leadership and impact, Mr. Williams was promoted to President of Contractor Transport, effective May 2022.

Prior to joining Contractor Transport, John spent eight years with one of the largest industry service providers in the country, known for delivering integrated solutions, expert logistics, and technology-driven services. As Division Manager, he and his team led the Appalachian Basin in market share, paving the way for two successful acquisitions that strengthened revenue growth, profitability, and business diversification. He also played a key leadership role in launching a mobile housing rental platform that proved vital in delivering COVID-19 relief solutions to colleges, universities, and private-sector organizations nationwide.

Before entering the energy services industry, John spent nine years in aviation management, serving as Operational Control Manager with responsibility for 116 air medical aircraft operating across the United States, as well as two Learjets and four King Air aircraft supporting domestic and international operations. In addition to his aviation and energy-sector leadership, John has more than 30 years of experience as a firefighter, including four years as an industrial firefighter and senior sergeant, where he oversaw emergency response crews, operations, and training programs.

John is married and the proud father of four children and two grandsons. Outside of work, he is an avid deep-water fisherman and enjoys spending quality time with his family.
